The developers of the Salty Stage Shore Skid Jig were inspired by the arrow and attack movement of an octopus. The design and contour was to create a "switch back" effect to imitate an octopus hunting. The movement creates an enormous amount of sparkle and lightning, which is likely to attract predators from a distance. The side-to-side spinning also mimics the action of a squid panicking and scaring to flee under the threat of a predator. The Skid Jig is designed to work both horizontally and vertically, making the Skid Jig a worthwhile alternative to traditional jigs for boat anglers. The jig is very easy to cast.
